Your tickets & QR codes

After purchasing, your tickets arrive in your email inbox — there's no separate online ticket wallet. Here's how to find and use them.

Where to find your tickets​

Your confirmation email is sent to the address you entered during checkout. It contains:

  • One ticket image per ticket — a designed image with your name, the event details, a large QR code, and a reference number
  • A calendar invite (.ics file) — add the event to your phone or computer calendar

The subject line is "Your tickets for [event name]".

If you can't find the email​

  1. Check your spam or junk folder — confirmation emails sometimes land there
  2. Check you entered the correct email address — the address on the ticket is the one you typed at checkout
  3. Look for the organiser's name in the email — the sender displays the event organiser's name, not "TimbaTicket"

If you still can't find it, contact the organiser (see Contacting the organiser) and ask them to re-send the confirmation. Organisers can re-send confirmation emails from their dashboard.

How the QR code works​

Each ticket has a unique QR code. When you arrive at the venue, the door staff scan your QR code at the check-in desk.

Important: Each QR code can only be scanned once. If you bought multiple tickets, each guest needs their own QR code — you can forward the individual ticket images by email.

What the QR code contains​

Your QR code encodes a secure, signed token — not a URL or personal information. It's verified against TimbaTicket's system when scanned, so it can't be forged or copied from a screenshot (the scan checks it hasn't been used already).

Do I need to print my ticket?​

No. You can show the ticket image on your phone screen at the door. If your phone battery dies, you can quote your reference number (the 6-character code shown below the QR code on the ticket image) instead — the door staff can look you up manually.

The day-before reminder​

You'll receive a reminder email the day before the event. This email does not include a new QR code — your QR code from the original confirmation email is still valid. If you can't find the original, contact the organiser to have it re-sent.

What if my QR code doesn't scan?​

  • Make sure you're showing the full ticket image (not a screenshot of just the QR code)
  • Check the screen brightness — door staff scanners work best with a bright screen
  • If it still doesn't scan, the door staff can look you up by your reference number or name
